My name is Dustin Graber, and I’m honored to serve you on the Ankeny City Council. As a lifelong Iowan, husband, father of four, and dedicated public servant, I’m committed to keeping Ankeny an affordable, clean, and safe community—the very best place to live, raise a family, work, and grow a business.
Who I Am
I grew up on a family farm in Wayland, Iowa, where I learned the values of hard work, integrity, and fiscal responsibility—values I bring to every decision I make for our city. My wife, Sonya, and I have called Ankeny home since 2009, and we’re proud to raise our four children here.
I currently work as an Area Manager for a global healthcare company focused on fighting cancer across Iowa. My professional experience, combined with years of leadership in local and state government, gives me the insight and accountability to make decisions that protect our future.

Before joining the City Council, I served eight years on the Ankeny School Board, including as President, Vice President, and Committee Chair. My service extends to:

Keeping property taxes low – I recently voted to maintain the lowest tax rate in the Des Moines metro.

Balancing growth with responsible spending – ensuring smart investments in infrastructure and services.

Supporting public safety – continuing strong funding for our police and fire departments.

Encouraging economic vitality – strengthening partnerships with local businesses and supporting community development.
